However, I have heard many negative things about the PLAY engine and that really scares me away from EW. I think I would be happy with either the EWSO or VSL, although I think I would prefer the one with the best sounds without too much fussing (EWSO, from what I hear). I'm running a single 2.8 Ghz quad core Mac Pro from 2008 with 4-6 gigs of RAM.

I'm looking to upgrade from GPO to either: 1) Vienna Symphonic Library Vienna Special Edition Bundle I'm also looking for some advice on this same issue. They sound great IMHO, feature extensive keyswitching for switching between articulations, and should run well on your computer. I would recommend that you check out the versions of Kirk Hunter's libraries for Logic's included EXS24 sampler. While this is a fine orchestral library, you will not be able do what you want with it with only that mount of RAM. I just want a fairly cheap ($600) easy to use realistic sounding orchestra that uses logic pro 8's usual interface.
If there is a better program out there please let me know. Will this program even run on my computer?
